Today's Smile Blog
My first blog is definitely a stretch! The new millennium has ushered in great ways for us to keep in touch. Those of us who where at the Michael Jackson Thriller concert have to stretch ourselves to embrace the technological advancements! That being said I thought it befitting to talk about stretching ourselves my first time out.
To stretch is to grow and anything not growing is dead. I don’t know about you but I’m not ready to push up the daisies, therefore I must grow. It can be an ambitious stretch, a new language or musical instrument. You can stay in the shallow end with a new dish or spice. It can be life transforming like a new attitude or forgiveness. The main criterion is that it’s different from the same old thing! Bend down touch your toes; feel the burn in the muscles? What ever you choose to stretch if you don’t feel the burn you didn’t stretch far enough!
“ARE YOU HAPPY AT ME"
During this Thanksgiving season we reflect on things for which we are grateful. In that there should be some self reflection. Do you make someone’s list? Our very nature should be love. This should be the only way we relate to one another, in love.
I am grateful for my three year old daughter Lauryn whose favorite question especially when she is doing something she shouldn’t be is: “mom, are you happy at me or mad at me?” This is a great question for reflection, because every interaction or emotion is always at someone. Angry, irritated, joy, peace, love are always directed at someone, even if it’s you.
Always be happy at others, relate in love. You will be better for it.
